Test Results

Specimen submission and Test results:
Please ensure any specimens you provide are:
  • Placed in the correct container
  • Clearly labelled
  • Accompanied by a completed request form
  • Sealed in the appropriate plastic envelope
Failure to follow these steps may result in the laboratory being unable to process your specimen.
Test Results Enquiries
Our phone lines are particularly busy in the early morning. Please call between 11:00am and 4:00pm to request test results (e.g. blood, urine, X-ray) when our reception staff will have more time to assist you.
Please note that the reception team will only be able to inform you of your results when you call if they have come back normal or satisfactory as these results alone DO NOT require a follow up discussion.
Our clinical team regularly review patient’s test results and if any of your results come back out of range a follow up consultation with a trained clinician will be requested for you.
Please note you may be able to view your results via the NHS app prior to these being received/reviewed by us.
Confidentiality
To maintain patient confidentiality, results will only be given to:
  • The patient themselves
  • Parents/guardians of children under 16
Results will not be disclosed to spouses or partners unless prior written consent has been provided.

Online Access Option
Alternatively, if you do not have online access already you can apply to have online access to your medical record. This allows you to view your test results and clinicians’ comments without needing to call.
