DVLA request Fitness to Drive
These request will come straight to the practice direct from the DVLA and the patient does not need to do anything.
You must tell DVLA if you have a driving licence and:
· you develop a ‘notifiable’ medical condition or disability
· a condition or disability has got worse since you got your licence
Notifiable conditions are anything that could affect your ability to drive safely
- DVLA will contact the surgery via post.
- The form will state any questions that may need clarification/evidence for you to be able to drive safely.
- Once these are completed, we will directly send them straight back to the DVLA
- Occasionally a clinician may call you if they have any queries.
- If you have any questions / queries in relation to this, you must discuss with DVLA.
DVLA Medical Exams
DVLA will contact the patient and the practice and request that the practice offers a medical examination within a 6 week period. Upon receiving these, we as a practice will get in contact with you, however we would also advise if you have not heard from us after receiving your letter, to please contact us.
These requests are payable by the DVLA, the patient does not pay for these services.
