I qualified in 1995. Worked on an Orthopaedic ward for a short time, then worked in A&E until 2008 and have been a practice nurse since then.
My special interests are mainly around keeping those with asthma well and women's health, particularly focusing on Contraception, smears, discussions about breast awareness and Prep.

Training practice

Victoria Road has been accredited as being suitable for the training of Allied Health Professionals and Foundation Year 2 Doctors.

We are a training practice.  This means that you may see a variety of different trainees, for example GP trainees, Paramedics and Nurses.   These trainees are all supervised by a senior member of the team.

F2 – Foundation Doctor – Year 2.

The first year of the posts in other specialties, such as general practiceemergency medicinepaediatricspsychiatryobstetrics or pathology. The training builds on what has been achieved during the previous year.

ST1 & ST2 Doctors – are Specialty and GP Trainees.

ST3 Doctors – GP Registrar on their final year of training before qualifying as a General Practitioner.

GP net earnings

The average pay for GPs working in Victoria Road Surgery in the last financial year was £140,778 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 full time GPs and 5 part time GPs who worked in the practice for six months or more.

“NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised by 31 March 2026 at the latest.  However, it should be noted that the prescribed method of calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used for any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices.”
